Sandra will also do a reading from her work.

Originally from Newfoundland, Sandra Djwa has lived in West Vancouver for over 35 years. She is a professor emerita of English at Simon Fraser University after teaching there from 1968-2005. Her biography of Canadian poet P.K. Page, Journey With No Maps, won the 2013 Governor General’s Award for Non-Fiction. She was named to the Order of Canada in 2020 for her contributions to the fields of Canadian literature and Canadian literary criticism and this past June was awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters honoris causa from Capilano University.

Margaret Gallagher is the host of North by Northwest, BC’s highest-rated weekend show. She also served as the BC host of CBC Radio 2’s Canada Live and as a contributor to CBC TV’s Living Vancouver. Before joining the CBC, Margaret was active on the arts scene and worked with the Western Front, the Video In and the Independent Film and Video Alliance. She lives in East Vancouver with her family and two rowdy cats.
